AND PROTECTION

1.
To preserve and protect the cultural and historical value of the
Head Harbour Lightstation as part of the Regional"
Lighthouse
Alternative Use " initiative.
2.
To honor and respect the fisheries tradition and the value of
the sea and the business community of Campobello Island.
3.
To provide an emergency response service for disentanglement
and the rescue of stranded marine mammals in the Bay of Fundy area.
To
provide an interpretative center which would serve
to educate the public on :
1.
The history of Lighthouses, with particular reference to the
heritage and function of the Head Harbour Light.
2.
The richness and diversity of the maritime ecosystem of
the Bay of Fundy.
3.
The plight of the numerous marine mammals which inhabit
the Bay of Fundy, particularly the North Atlantic Right Whale

ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION
|
1.
To incorporate the Lightstation as a permanent component
of the economic base
of Campobello Island.
2.
To promote tourism on Campobello Island, the Fundy Isles
region and Atlantic Canada.
3.
To create employment for students, and develop long term
sustainable employment for Island residents.
